Beautifully Balancing Life Queen Corner: Tumi Mkha’

She learned how to push beyond her fears and thrive even when it seems unfavourable. Going for your dreams no matter what, is Tumi Mkha’ personified.

She inspires me, and yes, she is MY friend.

Thought I should share her with you and hope she inspires you as much as she does me.

If I had to fit everything, I wanted to ask in this post you would read your heart out! Lol

Here are a few questions I asked her which I believe will give you a sniped of who she is and her way of beautifully balancing life.

“Your inner child does not lie. If she thought it was possible, then it is and you ought to let go of your fears.” – Tumi Mkha’

My name is Tumi Mkha', but if you want to be like my school teacher, it's Boitumelo Ntsakiso Mkhawana. I am a stand-up comedian, a motivational YouTuber and a deacon of the church. That's who I am, when the lights go out and it's just the sound of my voice I hear, but in the light, I add onto that being a UCT Accounting graduate who now works as a financial analyst.

1. How do you balance work, side hustles, relationships and still being rooted in Christ?

This is a frequent question I get but it's still a tough one because every now and again, I change the order of how I do things in order to manage better. I usually prioritize what's urgent, while keeping my scheduled obligations. It's important to set aside prayer time, family time and time for friends, otherwise it's easy to get consumed with that which brings money and fame over what got you there.

2. What or who inspires you and why?

I'm inspired by a lot people because I have learned that we all have a certain level of wisdom and the wisdom that people we undermine carry, can change our destiny. If you want names however, I'll go Nomzamo Mbatha simply because I sat in class with her in one of her most successful years; the girl was always flying somewhere but somehow, she still managed to pass! She's phenomenal.

3. Two or Three books that had a great impact in your life.

The book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible, the Power of your Mind (Pastor Chris) and Heaven Is So Real (Choo Thomas).

4. How do you keep inspired and motivated?

I pray. Prayer makes me believe that I can conquer anything. Secondly, I ponder a lot upon my purpose; in order to fulfil it, I must stay motivated. The future Tumi motivates me.

5. What would you tell a younger queen, who is still trying to figure out where they fit in in this world.

Go back to the dreams and aspirations you had as a child and investigate why you abandoned them. If the answer is "they weren't realistic", then they are your key to finding yourself. Your inner child does not lie. If she thought it was possible, then it is and you ought to let go of your fears.

If the is anything you should take is that balance is possible. Your way of balance might not be similar to mine. Afterall our priorities are not the same. But the right anchor can keep you rooted.
