Power of Your Words – How Words Affect Our Lives

“You always get and have in your life what you believe for and say” – Kenneth E. Hagin

Whether we say good or bad it comes to being! The Bible says the power of life and death is in the tongue. (Proverbs18:21)

I remember back in Primary and High School I had a sort of chronic nose bleeding. It would happen every week. Due to these weekly occurrences I took caution, tried reducing picking at my nose, refrained from being under the sun too long and avoided heaters or dry air! The more often I took these measures the more the nose bleeding would subside. Sometimes an entire month would past without a nose bleeding. I got better to the extent that I even forgot I had that problem.

Then one day, my mom wanted to leave work early, she lied lol I know that sounds rude coming from an African family and all. She did! she said I was having an aggressive nose bleeding that afternoon and that she needed to attend to me. Guess what happened later that evening, Yep! I had an aggressive nose bleeding, worse than I have ever had in months! Thank God for His divine healing, ever since I got out of High School, I have never had a nose bleeding, Glory to God!

But, most of us have experienced that before, right? (Not the nose bleeding haha) saying something and it turns into reality!

That is, it! You have what you say!

The bible says where the word of a king is, there’s power (Ecclesiastes 8:4) you are a king-priest. We need to take heed to our words. We need to keep talking, not futile talking, I mean affirming the truth, the good, the Word of God.

Jesus said we shall have what we SAY! (Mark 11:23)

Words are things and they possess spiritual energy. When you talk you release energy in the realm of the spirit. Words are vector quantities (it is a force). When we talk and speak words we are shifting and affecting the atmosphere be it good or bad words.

I grew up in a “talking” church, we did a lot of talking, confessions and bold declaration (probably the reasons why I talk so much). I am going to let you in on things you can do to start making changes in your life with words.

Set Out Time to Talk (Talking sessions, as I was taught)

I know this sounds a bit weird, stay with me. This could be in the morning; you all know I am a morning person. I have my talking time early in the morning.

Then what? You may ask.

Now if you are not like me and didn’t grow up in a talking church this is what you do next;

Write Down Portions of Scriptures on who you are or what belongs to you in Christ and begin to affirm them. You can also download my free PDF 10 Affirmation Cards to get you started.

Start Talking!

When you do this, you are saturating the clouds soon enough you will start experiencing the out pouring of rain. Take this seriously, everything I am today is a result of the proclamations I did when I was growing up.

Start shaping and framing your future with the right words, do not make the mistake of thinking you are saying words into the air; your actually addressing circumstances, your environment and effecting positive changes. Most Successful people will tell you, the is power in speaking into your future.

Start filling your clouds with the right words and enjoy the outpouring in your life.

“If the clouds be full of rain, thy empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be.”- Ecclesiastes 11:3

Say this with me:

I have the Word of God in my heart and in my mouth. I am producing great results. I am excellent. I know who I am, for greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. I reign as a king in life. I am affecting positive change in my world. I am a shining light, that is shining brighter and brighter. Glory to God!

Happy Women’s Month South Africa!

God Loves you and the is nothing you can do about it.
