Everyone these days is throwing around words like 'End Times', 'The Return of Jesus' 'Get born again while the is still time'etc. Don't be in a panic!

Even though in this post I will not be dicuss all of that, but one thing I do want to talk about is Salvation and try and explain why are we need to be 'saved'and how to do so.

What is Salvation?

Salvation is to be saved, from the Latin Word “Salvare”, meaning to save the soul from sin and its consequences – death. Salvation is to be saved from the broken relationship with God and from hell, from curses that plague mankind as result of Adam’s fall.

Adam was given dominion over the earth, but he abdicated the throne and gave way to the outlaw spirit – Satan and as result of that, was now given dominion of the earth.

God, from His preordained Plan, send Jesus as the Second Adam to come reconcile, redeem and restore the sons of Adam from sin and restore the earth to its rightful heirs and their dominionship and redeem this earth from Satan’s dominion.

To experience this beautiful gift, you need to accept the finished work - to believe in Christ Jesus as your Lord and Saviour is to receive this redemption, and everything else that He has done for you as the result of His love sacrifice on the cross!

When you get saved your relationship with God transitions from just being God Almighty to you but also your papa (Abba) God!!

Ultimately, you will get to spend eternal life with God in heaven, our home.

Why do we need Salvation?

The wages of sin are death, that’s what it says in the book of Romans 6:23 and even if we tried by all our might and abilities, we have no way of escaping the punishment, we need Jesus Christ to pull us out.

God makes this possible for us, He provided a way out of hell (Matthew 5 and Mark 9) and into everlasting life.

God send us His Son Jesus Christ to take our place on the cross, to bear the full punishment for all our sins on His body, and die our death. Only Jesus Christ can fully satisfy the righteous demand of Gods holiness in payment of our sin.

Therefore, the is no other way to be saved, Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life (John 14:6). To be saved you need to make a decision to accept what Jesus has done for you. (Acts 4:12).

How Do I Get Saved?

Salvation is a free gift of love from our God and it comes by believing in Jesus Christ.

In Romans 10:9-11, the Bible lets us know how to be saved and have eternal life:

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Believe and Confess!

Please say this prayer of salvation to accept Christ into your life and be saved:

O Lord God, thank you for Your love for me and sending Jesus Christ to die for all my sins. His precious blood washes me clean. I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ, Son of the living God. I believe He died for me and God raised Him from the dead. I believe He is alive today! I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and His Name, I have eternal life; I am saved I am born again. Thank you, Lord for saving my soul! I am now a child of God, Amen

What Happens After I Get Saved?

Now that you have accepted Jesus into your life, your entire position in God’s Kingdom changes – you are no longer a sinner but a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17, Jesus was made sin for you (2 Corinthians 5:21) and you are now a heir of God (Romans 8:17)

You might still look the same outwardly and feel the same, however your values have changed as a result of this decision.

God loves you unconditionally and wants to bless you. He is always by your side forever (Romans 8:31) He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Now that you born again it is vital you continue to hear about Jesus and your new life in Him.

To help you begin your journey as a believer, I would suggest you get yourself a Bible. The are lots of translations and types so I would suggest you get a version that is easier for you to understand. I love the New King James Version (NKJV) even though when starting off some might feel is a little complicated to really understand, it is a version I always start from before translating to other versions. Another version that is quite easy to understand is the New Living Translation (NLT) which is quite affordable as well. http://www.cumbook.com, http://www.amazon.com/s?k=bibles&ref=is_s or CNA stores if you are in South Africa. Get great free Bible Apps on Google Play Store or Apple Stores.

Be A Part of a Local Church!

You will need a help in your journey as a believer, I encourage you to find and attend a church where you live.

Attending church is therefore in obedience to God’s will and enables us to bless and edify each other with different gifts which God has given us. You will better understand the Word that is taught, hear testimonies and witness miracles. The is a “corporate anointing” of the Holy Spirit when we pray and worship God together.

Walking in the Word alone is an uphill, when you are not attending a “Spirit- filled” true Word preaching church. In a church, you will also receive love, guidance and support of other believers and church leaders.

Trust the Lord to Lead you to a local church that will help you see, hear and learn more about Christ.

They are a wide spread of satellite – online churches on YouTube and Facebook. If you really cannot attend church physically join one online and be part of a church community.

Please be on the lookout for my next posts on my journey of spiritual growth and balancing life, where I will share my experiences and testimonies to build your faith and edify you!

God Loves You! Cheer Up God is in control!
